FARWELL TO THE YEAR 2024

Dear 2024,
Hello! It’s me, Sarthak. It’s hard to believe how quickly you’ve flown by. It feels like just yesterday I was setting goals for the year, and now here we are, reflecting on the incredible journey we’ve had together. You’ve been a whirlwind of experiences—full of unexpected moments, valuable lessons, and a few bumps along the way. Yet, in the end, you’ve been a year I’ll always remember and cherish. Like a scientific experiment, 2024 has been filled with variables, outcomes, and surprises. Through it all, one thing is clear: I’ve learned, evolved, and grown in ways that will shape the future.

The Year of Curiosity
2024 has been a year of curiosity, much like a scientist’s endless quest for knowledge. I asked questions, sought answers, and dove into my passions. From groundbreaking technologies to creative breakthroughs, this year pushed me to explore more than ever. I marveled at the beauty of innovation, whether in science or art and embraced the unknown with open arms. The unpredictability of it all brought excitement, teaching me that curiosity is the key to growth.

But 2024 wasn’t just about intellectual exploration—it was about the personal journey as well. I learned more about myself and the world around me. This year was an invitation to dive deep into what truly matters, to explore what makes us who we are, and to discover the qualities that make us shine.

The Sweetness of Growth
If there’s one lesson I’ll carry with me from 2024, it’s that growth isn’t always a straight path. Sometimes, progress takes unexpected turns—and that’s perfectly okay. Just like a plant growing toward the sunlight, growth often happens quietly beneath the surface, even when it’s not immediately visible. Whether it was celebrating personal milestones or confronting challenges that tested my resilience, this year gave me the space to rise, adapt, and evolve into a stronger version of myself.

This year, I pushed myself to try new things. I started a blog, explored genres of books I’d never read before, and continually challenged myself to improve, day by day. Of course, there were moments when balancing school, competitions, and extracurricular activities felt overwhelming. However, these struggles taught me that growth often requires patience and persistence.

The Power of Connection
In science, a connection is essential—whether it’s the bonds between molecules or the relationships between people. 2024 reminded me that connection is at the heart of everything. Whether through virtual platforms or face-to-face interactions, the friendships, collaborations, and relationships I’ve built this year have been invaluable. They’ve reminded me that we’re all part of something much larger than ourselves.

In a world that sometimes feels divided, 2024 demonstrated the power of empathy, kindness, and understanding. Whether celebrating triumphs or navigating challenges, we learned to lean on each other and offer support. These moments of connection have been a source of strength, reminding us that we are all in this together.

A YEAR OF SADNESS 

This year is also a year of sadness for me as some of my favorite footballers like Toni Kroos have hung their boots. I have not lived up to my expectations, I failed half of my New Year resolution, and my pets aren't getting any younger which means I only have fewer years to live with them  However, I shall not give up hope as the new year brings new opportunities and a chance for fresh beginnings, allowing me to pursue my dreams with renewed determination and optimism.

Looking Ahead to the Future
As I close the chapter on 2024, I feel a sense of anticipation for what lies ahead. Just like a scientist preparing for the next experiment, I’m excited about the possibilities that 2025 holds. New discoveries, fresh opportunities, and new adventures await me. I’ll carry forward the past year's lessons—the courage to explore, the resilience to grow, and the wisdom to connect—and use them to shape the future.

So, goodbye, 2024. You’ve been a year of incredible growth and discovery. I’ll hold onto the memories with gratitude, knowing you’ve shaped me into who I am today. But now, it’s time to turn the page and look ahead to the next chapter. Here’s to 2025—let’s make it even more extraordinary!
